Celebrating 150 Years of Serving New Yorkers in Need
Thank you for your support!
On Wednesday, October 19, with the help of over 200 supporters at the historic Bowery Savings Bank building, we raised more than $225,000 in critical funds. The evening featured the history, people and stories behind our 150-year legacy — including the McAuleys' vision for a place of welcome and healing. Because of friends like you, The Bowery Mission can continue serving individuals experiencing homelessness with the highest level of care and compassion for years to come.

A Legacy of Transformation
In 2022, The Bowery Mission is celebrating 150 years of mission work to our neighbors experiencing homelessness and hunger in New York City — a legacy of loving well. New York City has changed all around us. But the Mission is still here and committed to the same vision we had back in the beginning. Learn more about our Legacy of Transformation. View a timeline of the Mission’s history through today, and read stories of people who help inspire our commitment to love well.
"We are profoundly aware that we are standing on the shoulders of many faithful witnesses and advocates who have gone before us in this work. It is a legacy that both humbles us and drives us, that reminds us of who we were, who we are and who we will continue to be, by God’s grace." — James Winans, CEO
