2024 Summer Social

The Bowery Mission's Summer Social

Thank You for a Special Night!

On July 25, our Associate Board hosted a fantastic Summer Social, bringing together over 200 guests for a memorable rooftop evening. Attendees connected with fellow young professionals dedicated to our mission, enjoyed music from a live DJ, captured moments in our photobooth and competed for exclusive prizes in our lively raffle.

The night was a resounding success, raising nearly $110,000 to support Mont Lawn Camp, The Bowery Mission’s beloved sleepaway camp now in its 130th year. Nestled in the Poconos Region of Pennsylvania, Mont Lawn Camp provides children and teens from NYC’s under-resourced neighborhoods an escape from their everyday stressors to learn about God's love and enjoy a transformative week of beauty, adventure and friendship away from the city.

If you were unable to attend the Summer Social and would like to support these life-transforming programs, it’s not too late! You can still give.

Making an Impact for the Next Generation

Attendees got a glimpse into the incredible impact Mont Lawn Camp has on kids and families. Moving stories were shared from past and present campers, including one young woman’s inspiring journey from camper to now giving back as full-time staff.

Kajal

"I have the chance to speak with parents and share my personal experience. Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder if I might be enrolling another little Kajal. It’s incredible to think that the same opportunities that changed my life could be opening doors for a new generation of kids."

Kajal, former Mont Lawn Camper and now our City Camp Program Coordinator

Zulay

"At Mont Lawn Camp, our mission is to provide children and their families with an environment where they can embrace their childhood, feel loved and safe, and dream without restrictions. We envision a future where every child grows to be a person of integrity, walking in faith."

Zulay, Associate Director of Children’s Programs

"We just celebrated 130 years of Mont Lawn Camp serving underserved children! I have seen children’s and families’ lives changed through the love and support they receive during the year long services and summer camp in the Poconos."

James Winans, CEO

What is The Bowery Mission’s Associate Board?

Associate Board
Associate Board
Associate Board

The Bowery Mission’s Associate Board is a group of emerging leaders who dedicate their time, talents and resources to raise awareness and support for The Bowery Mission. Each member serves as a thoughtful advocate for the Mission and our programs as we seek to promote the flourishing of men and women overcoming homelessness and marginalization and empower children to thrive and succeed.

Our members get involved because they care deeply about issues relating to homelessness and desire to join a community of like-minded young New Yorkers who want to take action. With support from Bowery Mission leadership, Associate Board members harness the power of their own networks and become connected to resources that make tangible impact possible.
