Plus, our Executive Chef gave a sneak peek on the TODAY show — and shared how the Mission changed his life.
We’ve been serving guests and clients at our 227 Bowery campus since the 1870s, and today the location houses daily meal and chapel service through our Compassionate Care program, as well as our Residential Program for Men.
This fall, we had the opportunity to work with construction pro George Oliphant and his crew from NBC’s renovation show, “George to the Rescue,” to update two spaces at our flagship campus.
Our Career Center provides a place for clients in our Residential Program for Men to search for jobs, participate in interviews and engage with vocational training curriculum as they pursue their individual journeys toward independent living.
And our Staff Lounge offers respite for the hardworking team that serves and prepare meals, connects with our guests and supports the men in our Residential Program.
George and the world-class construction and design teams from Silver Lining and Robert A.M. Stern Architects elevated our Career Center and Staff Lounge so our clients and guests have state-of-the-art spaces for work and relaxation.
A week before the episode aired, our Executive Chef and Food Services Director, Raffaele DePalma, joined George on the TODAY Show to reveal a sneak peek of the new spaces and share about his own journey of healing that began at the Mission.
